Marcus joined the ministry team as the Preaching Minister at Leander in the spring of 2023. He has a passion for the kingdom, and helping people to discover and fulfill the purpose God has created them for. He is a founding member of “Be1Make1”, an organization dedicated to helping churches become communities of disciples who make disciples. He is also a co-founder of “Christians For Kenya”, a Kingdom facing non-profit that focuses on equipping Kenyans to spread the gospel through education and humanitarian aid.

Marcus and his wife Maggie reside in nearby Georgetown. Maggie is the owner of and lead dietitian at ATX Nutritional Counseling where she specializes in the field of eating disorders.  They are avid ‘foodies’ who NEVER turn down a good steak or Texas BBQ. They love to travel, get after it together in the gym, and enjoy watching movies and playing games together.

God called Whit to ministry at the Leander Church of Christ in June of 1983 and he began full time with the church in August of 1983. He served as the youth minister for 16 years and is presently serving as the family minister. He also serves the church as one of its shepherds. He received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas in Austin. He has been been married to Debby for 12 years and they have many wonderful adventures together in life and ministry.

They partner together as husband and wife to reach out to families and connect them with the body of Christ in Leander. They are blessed to have 4 children and 10 grandchildren whom they love and cherish. God, his family, and the Church at Leander have been a source of strength through his years of ministry in Leander. His ministry philosophy can be summed up in this statement…”If God can use me in someone’s life each day for His purpose and glory, then it has been a great day!”

Alan began serving the Leander Church of Christ as the Youth Minister in March of 2012.  Prior to coming to Leander, he served as the Youth Minister at the Elliott Street Church of Christ in Breckenridge, TX as he continued his studies at Abilene Christian University. He graduated from ACU in 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Youth and Family Ministry and then again in 2011 with the Master of Divinity degree.  He married his wife, Tracy, in her home town of Fort Collins, CO in May of 2008 and they have two children, Caleb and Shelby.  Alan enjoys most anything outdoors, from hunting and fishing to camping and playing disc golf.

Darrell  began working with the Leander Church of Christ in the fall of 2012.    He is married to Cynthia and they have two daughters, Haley and Hope, and a son, Hayden.  Cynthia teaches at Brentwood Christian School.  Before coming on staff as the Education Minister, Darrell taught at Brentwood Christian School.  Darrell grew up in East Tennessee and attended the University of Tennessee, with a degree in Engineering.  He enjoys spending time with his family, listening to gospel music, and reading books on history.

Janet began faithfully and consistently serving the Leander Church of Christ as secretary in 2002. Before her time here, she worked for 31 years at the Texas Department of Insurance's Fraud Unit.  Here, however, Janet handles such tasks as greeting visitors to the building during the week, church correspondence, ensuring prayer request are sent out to the entire church family, creating the church bulletin and a myriad of other jobs throughout the week. She serves a vital role in our ministry staff and we are blessed to have her here.

Janet has a very caring spirit and is truly concerned about our church. That is why she loves her job. Make sure you support her and pray for her as she works diligently in this ministry.
