The Two Towers

God calling Abram to leave his father's house is a bigger deal than we realize! In that culture, living in your father's basement wasn't just normal, it was expected and honorable. Striking out took a level of trust in God's promises that we can all learn from.

Abram would have had no idea how God was going to be able to fulfill the outlandish things He was promising, and heeding the call would have taken a greater trust in God, than in his own clarity and understanding. We, like Abram will need to have more trust in God than our own understanding is we are to heed God's call in our lives.
