The Story Of Us Part 1
It's no secret that church attendance in the United States has been declining for decades. Much has been written on why, and how the church ought to attempt to reverse the trend. Some say it's a lack of zeal, faith, or that Christians have become too comfortable and distracted to care. Some blame social trends, politics, or church hurt.
But what if the problem is more complicated than that? And what if the solution is more simple than we have imagined. In part one of this mini-series, we dig deep into the unique cultural phenomenon that is "church going" - the emergence of the "church invitation" as the main mode of sharing the gospel, and how the church we read about in scripture looked very different.
What if we're asking the wrong questions? And what if the answers we seek are found right in plain sight, in the story of us?
